Nuno Viegas inaugurates the exhibition “Privado” (Private)
The exhibition “Privado”, by the plastic artist Nuno Viegas, will be inaugurated on the next 21st of March, at 6 pm in Convento de Santo António, in Loulé.
This work focus on a hot contemporary issue: how are the artists affected by the accelerated images production and diffusion and how can the images produced by these devices, like surveillance cameras, be used in an artistic context.
“Privado” is at the same time an exhibition and a research project, in the core of the artist’s quest since he completed his graduation. Nuno Viegas intends to question with his work the role of image in daily life, the banality of the bodies – by the constant presence of the cameras – and the right to private image that is stolen from us each time we go to the street. We are counting on your presence!
