Xana’s exhibit in Museu do Chiado
Xana, visual artist and researcher of CIAC, will present the exhibit entitled “NOVA ASSEMBLEIA e algumas próteses” (New Assembly and Some Prosthetics), on the 9th of February, in Lisbon. The exhibition, which will be open until April 1st in Museu do Chiado, appears, according to the author, “in the sequence of some previous works like ‘Assembleia’, which took place in the gardens of Fundação Gulbenkian, ‘Arco do Triunfo’, installed in an avenue of Barcelona, or the ‘Muro de Lisboa’, built in some beaches of the Algarve”. The exhibit is composed of work that “questions the representation of architecture as connected to the exercise of power and proposes the idea of the edification of an alternative place”. This exhibition is framed under the scope of the celebrations of the 100 Years of MNAC – Museu do Chiado, who invited a selection of visual artists to produce new, unpublished works from an “inside out” look of the museum.
