CIAC participates in the Festival Internacional de Cinema e Literatura de Olhão.
The first edition of the FICLO – Festival de Cinema e Literatura de Olhão (Olhão Film and Literature Festival) in Algarve, organized by the Cineclube of Tavira in co-production with the Olhão City Hall, will be held in April between the 4th and 13th, with the support of the program 365 Algarve and CIAC’s participation.
The Researchers Mirian Tavares and Bruno Mendes da Silva are two of the national guests invited to the Festival’s programme. We also highlight the “Cadavre Exquis” installation, a work by Bruno Mendes da Silva, displayed for the first time in Portugal, in its interactive version.
The Festival, hosted by several emblematic spaces in the city of Olhão, such as Mercado da Fruta, the Associação Cultural Re-Criativa República 14, the Auditório Municipal de Olhão and the Sociedade Recreativa Progresso Olhanense, presents an Official Competition (composed of films not distributed commercially in Portugal), to which are added three cycles of Cinema: Guest Country, that in this first edition will be dedicated to Sweden; Realizadoras, that will be based on a very innovative director and little known in Portugal, Kira Muratova; and finally a cycle that is part of the Creative Work of the Festival, which this year consisted into an invitation from FICLO to three contemporary Portuguese writers (Alexandra Lucas Coelho, Gonçalo M. Tavares and Nuno Moura) to write a text in dialogue with 3 silent films. The program will also include special sessions, in the sections Special Screenings, Masterclasses and Workshops, Facilities, Super 8 Performances, Conversations and Concerts.
Full programme available soon.
