ARTEFACTO 2022 TAKES PLACE IN MACAU AND ONLINE IN NOVEMBER

On 24 and 25 November 2022, CIAC partakes in the 3rd International Conference on Digital Creation in Arts, Media and Technology (ARTeFACto 2022 MACAO) Adérito Fernandes-Marcos, CIAC researcher, is the event’s Honorary Chair. ARTEFACTO takes place at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Saint Joseph, Macau (China), as well as online. This edition’s motto is “Emerging Extended Realities”.

Multiple CIAC researchers will present their communications at this conference, amongst them: “How I Learned to Stop Worry[in]g and Love the Big Brother: videovigilância no espaço doméstico”, by Alexandre Martins; “Get[IN]Gravity: vídeo-instalação interativa no equipamento 4GetGravity”, by Clara Trigo; “Methodological definitions for Handmade Immersive Art, an art-practice-based research with Hybrid Immersive Models”, by Lucas Olivero; “IN[The Hate Booth]: uma instalação gamificada para conter o discurso de ódio na rede“ and “Âmago: processo criativo de uma videoinstalação macaense”, by Susana Costa; “MAD Clarinet” and “The Influence of New Media Art on the Instrumentalist and on his Performance: New Paths” (coauthored by Pedro Alves da Veiga and José Gomes), by Rui Travasso; and “In MarImmersive Waves: uma performance de marimba com arte generativa computacional”, by Vasco Ramalho.

ARTeFACTo 2022 MACAO goal is to promote interest in the current digital media culture and its intersection with art, communication and technology as an important research field while focusing on the study of digital media artefacts, embracing topics covering their conceptualization, design, creative/art practice/research processes, computational implementation, exhibition and fruition as well their role in today’s information and knowledge society.

The conference program will consist of keynote speakers by eminent specialists, oral presentations (local and remote) of the contributed papers, art installations, videos, and posters of work in progress.
