CIAC RESEARCHERS PARTICIPATE ON CONFERENCE KUI 2023

CIAC’s Open University Hub, the INKA Research Group of the University of Applied Sciences of Berlin (HTW), and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon promote KUI 2023-XX International Conference on Culture and Computer Science, in Lisbon, under the theme “Code and Materiality”. The event will take place on September 28 and 29.

The conference focuses on the multifaceted bridges between physicality and virtuality in culture, the arts, and engineering. CIAC is part of the organization of the event and has several researchers participating with their presentations, promoting the sharing of scientific knowledge.

Pedro Veiga presents “Generative Ominous dataset-Testing the Current Public Perception of Generative Art”. António Araújo and Lucas Olivero present the communication “Enhancing the Teaching of Spherical Perspective with LiveSphere” and Rui D’Orey presents “Dematerializing materials: description of the first stages to digitize a museum exhibition with 3D technologies”, an article he co-authored with Alexandre Martins, Jorge Carrega, and Bruno Mendes da Silva.

KUI 2023 aims to reflect on examples of best practices; challenges and future trends in the fields of physical and virtual spaces; mixed, extended, augmented, and virtual reality; hybrid systems; 3D technology; data collection and management; media integration, modeling, visualization, and interaction.

The conference is directed at professionals from cultural and creative industries, art and culture, media and communication researchers, as well as engineers and computer researchers focused on cultural topics.
