CIAC COLLABORATOR PARTICIPATES IN THE PROGRAMME “TRAINING OF SCHOOL URBAN CHRONICLES IN AN EMPIRICAL CONTEXT” (CROATIA)
From 26 to 28 April 2022, Juliana Wexel, PhD student in Digital Media-Art and FCT-CIAC research fellow, participates in the Training School Urban Chronicles in Empirical Context, in Osijek (Croatia). Integrated in the COST Action CA18126 – Writing Urban Places project, the action includes lectures on spaces in literature, analysis of local urban chronicles and discussion workshops, city tours, as well as creative workshops.
Organised in the framework of the doctoral programme “Literature and Cultural Identity” at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, it is intended that the participants of this action will discuss the perspectives of literature and cultural identity, with a theoretical and practical approach (fieldwork and methodology included). Writing Urban Places proposes innovative research by articulating literary studies, urban planning and architecture and by valuing the specificity of local urban cultures in the European context, focusing particularly on the potential of narrative methods for urban development in medium-sized European cities.
Juliana Wexel’s participation in this Training School is part of the research laboratory for the development of the artistic artefact circumscribed in DMAD and CyPET, developed by CIAC-FCT. This project aims at the theoretical and practical exploration of cyber performance, from creative, performative and communicational angles, with the purpose of developing a new pedagogical model for its inclusion in higher education curricula.
