MANUEL CÉLIO CONCEIÇÃO TAKES PART IN CONFERENCE DEVOTED TO SCIENTIFIC FRANCOPHONY
CIAC Researcher Manuel Célio Conceição was part of the organization of 2èmes Assises de la Francophonie Scientifique [2ª Conference for Scientific Francophonie]. The event is part of the International Week for Scientific Francophonie promoted by Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie. The conference is centered on Artificial Intelligence and took place in Cairo (Egypt) between the 27th and 28th of October 2022 and also online.
The sessions organized by Manuel Célio Conceição focused on the relationship between artificial intelligence and research in the human sciences field. The debates focused on placing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the centre of scientific debates—with a non-technocentric approach but open to society. Reflections were made upon the impacts of AI on women and men, in our societies, in teaching and research activities, and in young students. In this scope, Célio Conceição delivered a communication about the epistemological impact of AI in Human Sciences and, particularly, on the problematic of the time’s time.
Besides the focus AI impacts in Human Sciences, the sessions also discussed: AI place in the challenge for universities’ mission in the health fields; AI impacts in science and technology; AI effect on Gender Equality; and opportunities or Threats AI represents in management sciences.
Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie is an association that brings together French-speaking higher education and research institutions on a global scale.
