GABRIELA BORGES INTEGRATES THE EDITORIAL BOARD OF THE NEW ISSUE OF LUMINA MAGAZINE

The first issue of 2022 of Lumina was recently published and counts with the participation of CIAC researcher Gabriela Borges in the Editorial Board, together with Jhonatan Alves Pereira Mata, Leticia Barbosa Torres Americano, Paulo Roberto Figueira Leal and Rennan Mafra.

Lumina, journal of the Graduate Program in Communication at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (PPGCOM/UFJF), brings together articles that address theoretical and methodological issues about communication and technology; and the audiovisual and media landscape of digital culture. In addition, themes related to television, social networks, journalism, and cinema are discussed.

We highlight the international article “‘The Computer Said No’ or The Erasing of the Human”, a translation by Adriano Souza of the text by Alan Cholodenko (professor in Film and Animation Studies and currently Honorary Associate at the University of Sydney); the article by João Martins Ladeira, entitled “An archeology of streaming in Brazil: A methodological essay,” which presents a methodology to observe the institutionalization of streaming in contemporary Brazil; the interview with filmmaker Sebastião de Souza, who reflects on his trajectory in São Paulo cinema, in the context of the generation of filmmakers belonging to the so-called “cinema of invention” (which sought new forms of signification and reaction to the authoritarian context imposed after the Coup of 1964).
