CIAC RESEARCHER PUBLISHES ARTICLE IN JOURNAL BY THE FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE OF THE ESTONIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS
Multimedia artist, FCT-CIAC research fellow, and student of the doctorate program in digital media-art (DMAD-CIAC), Juliana Wexel had her article published in the journal “Proceedings 11-12 / 2023”, by the Faculty of Architecture of the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA), in Tallinn, Estonia.
The text “Vulva Art, Aesthetic Discourse and Feminism: Creation’s Account of Two Digital Artistic Artefacts in Site-specific and Hybrid Space” is inserted in the first collection “I COST Action: Writing Urban Places. New Narratives of the European City” and describes the creation processes of the computational artistic projects “ivagination” e “Make me up!”. The projects were carried out as part of ongoing research for her doctorate thesis “Vulva Art and Cyberperformativity: contributions to the comprehension of feminist aesthetical discourses in digital media-art”.
Wexel’s production is included in the collection of works of doctorate students of European universities who participated in the “Training School: LOCAL STORIES and VISUAL NARRATIVES”. The workshop took place on 15 and 16 September 2021, in Tallinn, Estonia, as part of the project Cost Writing Urban Places, which proposes an innovative research by articulating literary studies, urban planning, and architecture, and valuing the specificity of local urban cultures in a European context.
The publication also includes texts and articles of the “Innovation and Digital Reality: Ideas, Representations/Applications and Fabrication”, a result of Innovation and Digital Reality International Conference, which happened on 6 September de 2022 at the Estonian Academy of Arts, as part of the satellite program TAB 2022 of the Tallinn Architecture Biennale.
