PLAY YOUR ROLE

PLAY YOUR ROLE LAUNCH “BROCHURE ABOUT HACKATHON GAMES ” AND PARTICIPATES IN THE FIC.A FESTIVAL

The project Play Your Role developed four Serious Games that address, with different strategies, the issue of hate speech: Divide et Impera, YouTuber Simulator, Social Threads and deplatforming. These games, which involved teams of young designers from Italy, Poland, France and Germany, have been assembled into a brochure accessible from the project’s website.

The Brochure about Hackathon games  intends to serve as a guide and, to this end, it includes four didactic proposals that include the Serious Games developed in the Play Your Role project, in an educational path for secondary schools, youth centers and associations. This flyer is available in Portuguese, English, French, German, Italian, Polish and Lithuanian.

It was also produced a kit of pedagogical itineraries that can dig deeper and complement the teaching experiences proposed in the Brochure about Hackathon games. Addressing hate speech is always complex and the pedagogical itineraries provide many activities and ideas to work in a meaningful way.

In addition, between the 12 and 17 of October 2021, the Play Your Role video presentation will be on display at FIC.A – International Science Festival, at the Palace and Gardens of Marquês de Pombal (Oeiras). This is an event that celebrates science and knowledge and has a program full of unique experiences in science, technology, culture and art.

For two years, Play Your Role has focused on using video games to develop critical thinking in young people and to help them fight online hate speech.
