POST-GRADUATION IN CREATION PROCESSES

ADMISSIONS FOR POST-GRADUATE COURSE IN CREATION PROCESSES RUNS UNTIL 31ST AUGUST

The Faculty of Human and Social Sciences (FCHS), of the University of Algarve, offers a new postgraduate course in Creation Processes. The last application phase runs until 31st August 2022. This is a B-Learning course, unprecedented in Portugal, lasting 1 year, in person and online.

The postgraduate course in Creation Processes at the University of Algarve takes place in person in Faro, at the Gambelas Campus, and online with professors from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Brazil), an institutional partner in the program. The theme of creation processes is discussed from the perspective of the different artistic manifestations.
It is intended to provide researchers with methodological tools for the knowledge, interpretation and evaluation of creation processes, allowing them to understand the complexity of the area that comes from the general character of the systems and the specificities of artistic, literary, cultural and media objects; understand the media universe as a support and tool for creating and disseminating creative processes; and encourage the immersion of artists in the universe of research on creation processes.
The program focuses on the diversity of artistic manifestations and on theoretical, practical, cultural, historical and humanistic knowledge in the areas of expertise of the FCHS education staff: Ana Clara Santos (program director); Ana Isabel Soares (deputy director); Mirian Tavares; Alexandre Barata – Xana; Pedro Cabral Santo; Rui Sanches; Antonio Branco; Antonio Costa Valente; Bruno Mendes da Silva; Ana Alexandra Carvalho; João Carvalho; Alexandra de Brito Mariano and Carina Infante do Carmo.
In addition, the program is based on the solid theoretical basis of studies on the creation of the Research Group on Creation Processes, of the Communication and Semiotics Program, of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. The Group, a partner in the program, has been working for over 30 years with the theme of creation processes and is coordinated by Cecilia Almeida Salles, an international reference in the area, with several books published in Portuguese and English on the subject. Cecilia Almeida Salles is also one of the postgraduate professors, along with other members of the Group: Lúcia Leão; Camila Mangueira; Patricia Dourado; Paula Martinelli and Wagner de Miranda.
