CIAC and Harvard University start the project CataCumba
Rudolfo Quintas, student artist in the Doctoral Degree in Digital Media-Art (joint course of Universidade Aberta and Universidade do Algarve), will soon start his artistic residency in the PCMM – Program in Cellular and Molecular Medicine, in Harvard Medical School, from the Harvard University, Boston, USA, at invitation by scientist Tomas Kirchhausen.
The starting point of this residency is the exchange of experiences and knowledge in order to build a project of ByoArt, at the borders of the computational art and the cellular and molecular biology, which is to be implemented in the space CataCumba – Laboratório de Artes Computacionais e Média Criativa (Laboratory of Computacional Arts and Creative Media), located in Palácio Ceia. This is the beginning of the cooperation between Universidade Aberta, CIAC and Harvard University – Kirchhausen Lab.
Rudolfo Quintas will present an ‘artist talk’ on the 20th of March about his artistic work and will present an interactive sound installation, integrated is his doctoral degree research project, developed under the supervision of professors Adérito Marcos and Mirian Tavares.
