The Faculty of Human and Social Sciences from Algarve University hosts the Seminar “El Romancero y Ramón Menéndez Pidal” on the 20th February, with the researcher Nicolás Asensio Jiménez (UCM / FRMP).
The researcher will be at the University of the Algarve, under the Erasmus + program, between the 18th and the 22th February. In addition to lecturing in curricular units of Spanish Literature of the Department of Arts and Humanities of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nicolás Ascensio will minister a seminar on the romanceiro within the framework of the project romanceiro.pt, hosted by CIAC, where he will present the precursory studies of Ramón Menéndez Pidal on the romanceiro.
Nicolás Asensio Jiménez (Pamplona, 1991) has been working on the traditional romanceiro of the Hispanic languages in the framework of the projects developed by the Ramón Menéndez Pidal Foundation. He has published articles in several magazines on the traditional romanceiro, on textual criticism and thought of the Middle Ages, as well as a monograph entitled Libro de la traslación y milagros de San Millán (Ediciones Emilianenses, 2016).
The event, open to the academic community, will take place at 11:00 a.m., in room 2.35, of the building 1, in Campus de Gambelas. The admission is free.
