SEMINAR
ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE A SEMINAR ABOUT COMMUNICATION, LINGUISTICS AND INTERCULTURALISM
Today, December 2nd, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, the School of Education and Communication (ESEC) of the University of Algarve and CIAC promote the seminar “Communication, Linguistics and Intercultural Encounters”, with Ana Paula Dias, professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Macau, in the course of Portuguese-Chinese and Chinese-Portuguese Translation and Interpretation.
Organized in the scope of the Verbal Expression Techniques and Semiotic course, of the 2nd year of the Degree in Communication Sciences, the session is moderated by Prof. Carmen Monereo and takes place in the Amphitheater 1.3, of the Pedagogical Complex of the Penha Campus.
Ana Paula Dias holds a PhD in Education and Interculturalism, a Master’s degree in Portuguese Interdisciplinary Studies and a degree in Portuguese Studies. She was the coordinator of the Language Centre of the Portuguese Oriental Institute in Macau, where she currently works for the Macau government, in the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, as an advisor for the promotion and dissemination of Portuguese. She is a professor at the Macau Polytechnic Institute, teaching Portuguese-Chinese and Chinese-Portuguese Translation and Interpretation. In Portugal, she has published, since 1996, several volumes on Portuguese literature, didactics of Portuguese as a foreign language and on education and intercultural encounters. She has published academic articles in indexed journals in Portugal, South Africa, Brazil, Taiwan and Macau. He has collaborated with the newspapers Hoje Macau and Ponto Final, the Macau Magazine and the Revista de Cultura.
