CIAC PROMOTES SEMINAR ABOUT MEDIA ART AND DOCUMENTARY FILM ON 20 MAY AT UALG

On May 20, 2022, between 9.30 am and 5 pm, CIAC promotes the seminar Media Art and Documentary Film: Poetics. The event takes place at the University of Algarve, at Room 2.37 of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, Gambelas Campus.

Cinema, new media and other artistic manifestations seem to converge in new contexts and unexpected places. Media Art and Documentary Film: Poetics brings together researchers from the University of Algarve (UAlg), Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), New University of Lisbon and the Art School of Porto (ESAP), to reflect on the paradigms, the borders and the proximities between the concepts of media art and documentary film.

Different lines of research will be presented that address the conceptualization of audiovisual discourse, the poetics, the artistic transitions and the hybridization of documentary audiovisual creation.

Costa e Silva (ESAP) and António Costa Valente (CIAC/UAlg). The session also includes the participation of Mirian Tavares (CIAC/UAlg), Juan José Domínguez López (URJC) and Jesús Ramé López (URJC).
