Reseacher of CIAC organizes the lecture “A turbulência das emoções” (The turbulence of emotions)

Natália Laranjinha, researcher of CIAC, is organizing the lecture “A turbulência das emoções” on the next 27th of March, at 5 pm, at the Library of Universidade do Algarve (Campus de Gambelas), Faro.

The event intends to reflect upon the way, since Antiquity, emotions were considered a source of human torments, responsible for both the physical and moral suffering. In today’s society are we still associating emotions to weakness and, more important, to irrationality? Are we still fearing the turbulences and consequent unbalances that emotions can provoke in us? Or, on the contrary, have we lost the ability of being touched by reality and by the other humans? This and other questions will be explored by the researcher herself, by Edgar Massul (visual artist and collaborator of CIAC) and by Cláudia Moura (master in Social Service).
