XVI JORNADAS CIAC
XVI CIAC CONFERENCES ON FEBRUARY 25 IN A PRESENTIAL FORMAT AND AND STREAMING
On the 25 of February 2022, CIAC promotes the XVI Jornadas CIAC, dedicated to practice-based research in the fields of arts and communication. The event takes place at the University of Algarve, in Auditorium 1.5, at the Pedagogical Complex of the Penha Campus, and will be streamed on UAlg’s Youtube channel.
The motto of the meeting remains the same: to bring together researchers to share, problematize and discuss projects, publications, methodologies, concepts and paths. The program for the XVI Jornadas CIAC is already available (here), highlighting the thematic panel and the round table on cases and experiences of practice-based research, with keynote speakers Nico Carpentier (Charles Univrsity, Czech Republic), Craig Vear (De Montfort University, England), Paula Caspão (CET/FLUL), Pedro Alves da Veiga (CIAC/UAb) and Rudolfo Quintas (CIAC).
The XVI Jornadas CIAC also includes the usual panels focused on the research produced and hosted at the Center. In this edition, interventions in the areas of communication sciences (from academia to the community) and film studies (projects and collections) are foreseen, as well as the presentation of CIAC’s collections (Creation Processes and Texts and Studies Collection) and a tribute to Professor Pedro Ferré (CIAC/UAlg).
The event is free and provides a certificate of participation, upon registration (here).
In addition, following one of the Jornadas’ interventions on the exhibition of cinema posters at the Faro Municipal Museum, CIAC organizes a free visit on February 26, at 10:30am, guided by the exhibition curator and CIAC researcher Jorge Carrega. The exhibition 1907-1914: the first golden age of French cinema in the poster collection of the Museu Municipal de Faro gathers 33 rare cinema posters, collected in the main showrooms of Lisbon and Porto by Faro artist and collector Joaquim António Viegas.
Registration for the visit is possible on the registration form for the Jornadas.
