Pedro Alves da Veiga

Pedro Alves da Veiga is an artist and transdisciplinary researcher, with a degree in Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a postgraduate degree in Advanced Studies in Digital Media Art from Universidade Aberta and a PhD in Digital Media Art from Universidade do Algarve and Universidade Aberta. He teaches in the Department of Science and Technology at the Universidade Aberta and at the Cascais School of Arts & Design, has been involved in business for over two decades and has won several awards for web design and multimedia. He is a researcher at CIAC and regularly shares the results of his research at conferences and specialized scientific publications on the social role and influences of the economies of attention and experience in the digital media-art ecosystem. He also develops artistic activity in assemblage, generative creative programming and digital audiovisuals. His work has been exhibited individually and collectively in Portugal, China and the United States.

Research Interests

Generative art, art and society, sustainability, artivism, hactivism, digital art curation. He has participated in various research projects involving art, science and technology.
