Bruno Mendes da Silva unanimously approved in his public aggregation exams


On 11 June 2024, the CIAC Vice Coordinator, Bruno Mendes da Silva, successfully completed his public aggregation exams in Communication, Culture, and Art, receiving unanimous approval from the jury.

The exams, held in the Seminar Room of the Rectorate at the Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve, comprised the analysis, appreciation, and discussion of his Curriculum Vitae, the evaluation of the report on the curricular unit titled “Audiovisual Communication”, and the discussion of the lecture “In the Mood for Love”.

The jury was chaired by Doctor Nuno Bicho (Full Professor, Vice-Rector for Research and Culture at the University of Algarve) and included Doctor Adérito Fernandes-Marco (Full Professor at the University of Saint Joseph, Macau); Doctor Cristina Ponte (Full Professor at Universidade Nova); Doctor Moisés Lemos Martins (Full Professor at the University of Minho); and Doctor Maria Potes Barbas (Coordinator Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém).

During the exams, Bruno Mendes da Silva analysed the film “In the Mood for Love” as a tool for consolidating theoretical concepts of audiovisual language and for enhancing the understanding of audiovisual texts, particularly in aesthetic, formal, and conceptual domains.
