Call for Papers for the 2nd Creative Processes Conference open until October 5
The call for submissions is now open for the 2nd International Creative Processes Conference, to be held on December 4 and 5 in Faro, at the University of Algarve, Penha Campus, under the theme “Interactions between Research and Creation.”
Until October 5, CIAC will be accepting submission proposals via the event website from artists, researchers, and creators in general, based on this year’s theme and the following suggested, but not exclusive, cross-cutting topics:
- Theories of artistic creation and their poetics
- Materialities and procedures of artistic creation
- Reception, co-creation, interactivity, and shared creations
- Culture, memory, and archives of creation
- Research methodologies in creative processes
- Poetics of research
- Ethics and politics of creation
- Decolonial and anti-racist practices of creation and research
- Creation, representation, and reparations
- Sustainability and ecologies of creation
- Literacy, educational practices, and creative processes
- Creative processes and AI tools
- Digital poetics, generative practices, and hacking practices
- Artivism and digital artivism practices
- Contributions of creative processes to climate challenges
- Feminism, gender, and intersectionality in creative processes
This year, the event welcomes new submission formats. In addition to the traditional Paper Proposal (abstract between 200 and 300 words), submissions may also include Thematic Panels (up to 5 papers), Exhibition of Creative Archives (as part of a paper or panel), and Workshops.

The event is organized by CIAC, through the Working Group on Visual Arts and Creative Processes, in partnership with the Research Group on Creative Processes at PUC-SP.
