CIAC at UFES: Opening Keynote Addresses Art and Technology in Contemporary Times

The Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), in Brazil, will host on October 14, 2026, the opening keynote lecture “In-Betweens and Mediations: Art and Technology in Contemporary Times” (Entremeios e mediações: arte e tecnologia na contemporaneidade), delivered by Prof. Dr. Mirian Nogueira Tavares, Vice-Coordinator of CIAC and Director of the PhD in Digital Media-Art (UAlg/UAb).

The session proposes a reflection on the intersections between artistic creation and digital technologies in the contemporary era, analyzing transformations in visual languages and new dynamics of cultural mediation.

This initiative is part of an interdisciplinary cooperation project involving the Graduate Programs in Arts, History, and Procedural Law at UFES, coordinated by Prof. José Cirillo.
