CIAC Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion Hub inaugurates laboratory in Mozambique
On 20 May, 2026, CIAC-PLDIS IPSantarém inaugurated the Intensive AI Research Lab – AIR África, hosted at ISFIC – Instituto Superior de Formação, Investigação e Ciência, in Mozambique.
This new laboratory strengthens the international strategy of CIAC-PLDIS in the areas of artificial intelligence, digital literacy, social inclusion and applied research, creating new opportunities for training and knowledge exchange between Portugal and Africa.
The initiative was supported by ISTEC, through the donation of 21 computers, by the RIAL Association, by Early Career Assunção Santos, responsible for the development of an Escape Room project in the field of prevention, and by TAP Corporate, which provided logistical support for the transportation of the equipment.
With the Intensive AI Research Lab, Africa now becomes part of the international CIAC-PLDIS network, benefiting from monthly webinars, scientific events and knowledge dissemination initiatives promoted by the Hub.
