CIAC joins the international MetaRed TIC 2025 programme with exchange in Peru
The Research Centre in Arts and Communication (CIAC), through an application submitted by the Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion Hub (PLDIS), based at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, has been selected to take part in the MetaRed TIC 2025 International Exchange Programme, which will take place at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), in Peru. The application submitted by the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém was one of 10 approved out of a total of 41 applications accepted at international level.
The selection process was conducted by the Executive Secretariats of MetaRed TIC and was based on a rigorous set of criteria, including the strategic choice of the host institution, the interest and motivation expressed in the application, the institution’s active participation in the MetaRed TIC network, the relevance of the applicant’s professional role within the network (in this case, the PLDIS coordinator, Maria Potes Barbas), and the contribution to the promotion of internationalisation and institutional diversity.
According to the organisation, participation in this international exchange will help strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions, as well as contribute to the development of the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and to the Digital Transformation strategy of the institutions involved, both sending and host.
MetaRed TIC will initiate the administrative procedures for the transfer of financial support to the sending institution, which is expected to take place in the first months of 2026, in line with the programme’s schedule. The exchange will take place throughout 2026, on dates yet to be defined.
This selection represents recognition of the work carried out in the field of ICT and international cooperation, reinforcing the positioning of CIAC and PLDIS–IPSantarém within international networks of innovation and digital transformation.
Further information on the final results of the programme is available on the official MetaRed TIC website.
