CIAC promotes open class on Dance and Philosophy at the School of Theatre and Cinema

On October 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the School of Theatre and Cinema (ESTC) of the Polytechnic University of Lisbon will host an open class entitled Dance and Philosophy: Ethics, Roots and Horizons of the Fragile Present, led by choreographers Joana von Mayer Trindade and Hugo Calhim Cristóvão.

The event is organized through a partnership between CIAC – Research Centre for Arts and Communication, through its research unit at ESTC, and Nuisis Zobop, an artistic creation organization based in Porto.

The session aims to bring together dance and philosophy, exploring questions related to ethics, roots, and the horizons of the present from an artistic and reflective perspective.

The open class is part of Orientation Seminar I, within the second year of the Master’s Degree in Theatre, taught by Armando Nascimento Rosa, and will take place in Room 310 of the Theatre Department at ESTC.
