CIAC researchers take part in Artefacto 2024 Macao


Artefacto 2024 Macao — 4th International Conference on Digital Creation in Arts, Media and Technology, with the theme “Creative Digital Intelligence”, has the partnership and broad participation of CIAC researchers.

ARTeFACTo is a conference and journal of transdisciplinary studies centred on the concept behind its name: digital media and computer artefacts. It aims to give visibility to all artefacts based on technology and digital media, creators or collaborators, from a transdisciplinary, humanistic and holistic perspective of integration and composition. The main objective is the construction and dissemination of knowledge through descriptions of artistic practices, authorship or co-authorship (including the narration and description of other works) and graphic data (images, diagrams, animations, drawings, sketches, among others).

The CIAC researchers presenting papers are Alexandre Martins, with two works: “Right to copy & memories in motion: textual, visual and dynamic collages using PowerPoint” and “The Faro museum poster collection II: a virtual exhibition”;

Ana Perfeito presents the paper “Desenvolvimento de um sistema de interatividade intocável para a performance de live cinemas: SSL2020”;

Bruno Mendes da Silva, with the paper “Méliès, the inventor of TikTok: From Early Cinema Innovations to Media Education”;

Clara Trigo presents “Graus de Interação em obras de média-arte digital”;

Chiara Sgrinzatto presents “MultipliCity, a case study in generative AI-assisted immersive illustration workflow”;

Cristina Cavalcanti, with the paper “Gender violence in the videoart Instruder(s)”;

Marta Amorim presents the paper “Spectral spaces: from 19th-century stereoscopy to 21st-century generative AI”;

Nuno Felipe Martins, with “Narrative Environments in Digital Art”;

Rui D’Orey presents “Ab Ob Sub Ject”;

Susana Costa, with the paper “Digital Authors: tackling online hate speech through storytelling”;

And Rosimária Sapucaia, who also presents two papers: “Weaving Digital Narratives: The Creation of Artefacts in Multimedia Production and Digital Games” and “Between Cloves and Fragments: Bodies in Video Perfomance”.

CIAC researchers will participate online in Artefacto 2024. The conference will take place at the University of Saint Joseph Green Campus in Macau on 5 and 6 December 2024. The sessions will be recorded and published after the conference.
