CIAC+PUC-SP Creative Processes Cycle welcomes filmmaker Leonardo Mouramateus
On 27 May 2026, the third edition of the online Creative Processes Cycle begins, organised by the International Conference on Creative Processes of CIAC, in partnership with the Research Group on Creative Processes of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP).
This first session will feature filmmaker Leonardo Mouramateus, a Brazilian director, dramaturgist, and screenwriter based in Lisbon since 2014. Currently pursuing a PhD in Performing Arts and Moving Image at the University of Lisbon / Polytechnic Institute, he holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia Art from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), where he received the Faculty of Fine Arts/Caixa Geral de Depósitos Award. Since 2010, he has worked closely with Performing Arts and Dance Dramaturgy, directing films screened at festivals worldwide, including Locarno Film Festival, Viennale, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), Cinéma du Réel, and Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema (BAFICI).
Retrospectives of his work have been presented in France (at the Cinémathèque Française), Colombia, and the Netherlands (at the International Rotterdam Film Festival). António Um Dois Três (2017), a Portuguese-Brazilian co-production and his first feature film, premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival. A vida são dois dias (2022), his second feature, premiered in the international competition of the FIDMarseille, where it received an honourable mention. Greice, his third feature film, premiered in 2024, also at the Rotterdam Film Festival, later winning the Best Director award at IndieLisboa.
Each edition of the Cycle invites artists and creators from different fields to discuss themes related to contemporary Creative Processes. The initiative takes place within the programme of the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Course in Creative Processes at PUC-SP and is broadcast through the YouTube channel of the PUC-SP Postgraduate Programme in Literature and Literary Criticism.
