Espaço Alfaia celebrates its 4.º anniversary with the launch of a new website and Alfaia Art Talk
Espaço Alfaia, a cultural organization based in Loulé and supported by CIAC – the Center for Research in the Arts and Communication – is celebrating its 4th anniversary this month. To mark the occasion, a commemorative event open to the public will take place on October 16 (Friday) at 6:00 p.m.
Opened on October 14, 2022, Alfaia has established itself over the past four years as a hub for creation, artistic experimentation, curation, and community engagement. This anniversary is particularly significant due to the venue’s recent integration into the RPAC – the Portuguese Network for Contemporary Art (which took place last September), making it the fourth venue in the Algarve region to join this national network for the promotion and circulation of art.
Commemoration Program (October 16, 6:00 p.m.)
The commemorative event consists of three main segments:
– Celebration of Alfaia’s 4th Anniversary: A gathering with artists, curators, partners, and members of the public who have followed the space’s journey;
– Launch of the New Website: Presentation of the new digital platform dedicated to promoting the exhibition space’s programming, archive, projects, and activities;
– Alfaia Art Talk – BEIJAMENTO: A conversation with artists Adriana João and Sara E Tralha, selected through an open call and currently in artistic residency at Alfaia, where they will offer a behind-the-scenes look at their research and creative processes.
During the celebration, visitors will also be able to view the exhibition currently on display at the venue, Ritual Bodies, by Christine Henry and Joana Coelho, curated by David Revés and Nicolai Sarbib.
