Interview with Ana Isabel Soares from CIAC published in Revista de Estudos Universitários

The Journal of University Studies (REU) of the University of Sorocaba (UNISO, Brazil) has published the text ‘Audiovisual literacy in the Portuguese educational context: an interview with Ana Isabel Soares’. The researcher and member of CIAC’s scientific committee gave an interview to researcher João Paulo Reis, a doctoral student in Communication and Culture at UNISO, who did a doctoral internship at CIAC with a sandwich grant from CAPES.

In this interview, Ana Isabel Soares talks about her academic career, how she came to approach literature and cinema, the stages in the creation and implementation of the National Cinema Plan in Portugal (in which she participated as Assistant to the Secretary of State for Primary and Secondary Education, in the Ministry of Education and Science) and the importance of audiovisual literacy for a more critical consumption of the images circulating in today’s various media, as well as for more creative uses of these same media in the production of content.
