IROKO Almancil Workshop to take place on May 9 and 10 with CIAC support
CIAC has established a partnership with the Associação P de Potência within the framework of the IROKO Almancil Workshop, an initiative dedicated to strengthening, listening to, and amplifying the expression of migrant women in Portugal.
The IROKO Workshop will take place on May 9 and 10, 2026, in Almancil, offering a collective experience that promotes civic participation, self-representation, and empowerment through artistic practices and participatory methodologies.
Among the activities to be developed during the workshop are:
- Theatre of the Oppressed
- Film Workshop
- Women’s Circle
The closing programme on May 10 will include:
- 1:00 p.m. — Lunch with participants
- 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. — Screening of the short film developed during the Film and Theatre of the Oppressed workshops
- 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. — Women’s Circle

Participation is free, with meals included and a certificate of participation provided.

Short films produced by women participants from previous IROKO editions in Lisbon, Porto, and Évora are available on the Association’s YouTube channel.
