José Paulo Pereira publishes article in the latest issue of Veredas journal
José Paulo Pereira, a researcher at CIAC, has published an article in the latest issue of Veredas: Revista da Associação Internacional de Lusitanistas (Vol. 45), titled “Mia Couto: Kindzu’s Dreams in Terra Sonâmbula”.
In the article, the researcher explores the narrative construction in Mia Couto’s work. Focusing on the character Kindzu, he examines how the characters’ reality is transformed through dreams, writing, and travel. Drawing on the ideas of Freud, Jacques Derrida, and psychoanalyst Decio Gurfinkel, the article discusses how, in dialogue with psychoanalysis, Mia Couto addresses the theme of dreams in his work.
