Manuel Célio Conceição attends the annual conference of the European Language Council

CIAC researcher Manuel Célio Conceição took part in the annual conference of the European Language Council (Conseil Européen des Langues/European Language Council – CEL/ELC), whose theme this year was “Multilingualism in Higher Education – current perspectives and emerging issues”.

The 2024 CEL/ELC Conference was held at Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on 28 and 29 November 2024. The event provided an in-depth exploration of the need to reassess the role of dominant contact languages in the multilingual landscape of internationalised higher education. It emphasised the importance of ensuring an equitable distribution of language resources among diverse student groups, taking into account linguistic, ethnic and cultural differences.
