Maria Potes Barbas honoured with international award from Targu Jiu University
Maria Potes Barbas, researcher and coordinator of CIAC’s Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion Hub (CIAC_LDIS), has received an award recognising her work in innovation and digital inclusion, a contribution to the development of educational and social projects at European level.
The award emphasises the researcher’s excellence in the field of multimedia communication and education, as well as her involvement in digital literacy and social inclusion initiatives.
Maria Potes Barbas has a PhD in Communication and Multimedia Education from Universidade Aberta and a post-doctorate from the University of Aveiro. Her research focuses on topics such as digital literacy, social inclusion, technological innovation and entrepreneurship, and she was recently appointed ambassador for the European Union’s ‘e-Skills for Jobs’ initiative, which promotes digital training and youth employment.
The award was presented by the rector of Romania’s Constantin Brâncuși — Targu Jiu University, Professor Luminița-Georgeta Popescu.
