Mirian Tavares features in the PODVIR podcast on “Arte no feminino”

Professor Mirian Nogueira Tavares, Vice-Coordinator of CIAC – Research Centre for Arts and Communication at the University of the Algarve, is the guest on episode 76 of the PODVIR podcast, dedicated to the theme “Art in the Feminine” (Arte no feminino).

The episode addresses the presence and role of women in art history, taking as its starting point the work developed in the special issue “Art in the Feminine”, published in 2026 by Rhinocervs journal (vol. 3, no. 1), organized by Mirian Tavares in partnership with researcher Maria Jesús Vilar.

Throughout the conversation, Mirian Tavares reflects on how European art history was constructed and the processes that contributed to the marginalization and invisibility of women’s artistic production. The interview also sheds light on the issues that inspired the special issue and deepens the debate on the representation of women in the artistic and cultural fields.
