Presentation of the Texts and Studies Collection by the Center for Galician Studies in Santiago de Compostela
On the upcoming Friday, April 5th, at 11AM, Santiago de Compostela will host the presentation of two volumes edited in the Texts and Studies collection, under the sponsorship of the Center for Galician Studies (CEG-CIAC).
Entitled “Cultural Appropriation and Historical Counter-discourse: The Arthurian Matter in Galician Literature,” the presentation will feature the presence of renowned professors Pere Alfonso Ferré da Ponte and María Jesús Botana Vilar, directors of the collection inaugurated in 2017 and also supported by the General Secretariat of Linguistic Policy of the Xunta de Galicia.
The volumes to be presented next Friday were edited by María Jesús Botana Vilar and Claudia Mariño Gómez, with layout and editorial design by Juan Manuel Escribano Loza. The first volume was released in 2022, followed by the second volume in 2023.
Designed to disseminate fundamental themes and works of Galician culture, both in Portugal and abroad, the main objective of this collection of monographs is to reinforce the cultural presence of Galicia, both among academics and the general public. Thus, these and future works will attempt to complement areas such as literature, history, visual arts, thought, and anything that can disseminate, through texts from the past or present, the culture of Galicia.
