Project PROPS is featured on the radio show “90 Seconds of Science”
On March 14th, the latest episode of “90 Seconds of Science” premiered, highlighting PROPS – Interactive Narratives Propose Pluralistic Discourse, a flagship project of CIAC. Susana Costa, a researcher who is part of the PROPS team, presented the research that has been developed in this context, introducing the objectives of this initiative that aims to limit online hate speech through the production of educational tools, including video games, interactive narratives, and educational itineraries.
Susana Costa, CIAC researcher and FCT-CIAC research fellow as Ph.D. student in Media-Art Digital, also had the opportunity to present In [The Hate Booth], an artistic artifact that provides the possibility to interact with a fictional blog, challenging the user to navigate through various toxic comments and expressions, alluding to communities and spaces where these discourses have been spreading.
“90 Seconds of Science” is a program that aims to “showcase the science being done in Portugal.” It is a production of Antena 1, in partnership with the master’s program in Science Communication, created by the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences and the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology of U-Nova de Lisboa.
