PROPS presented at the European Digital and Media Literacy Conference

The project PROPS – Interactive Narratives Propose Pluralistic Discourse was featured at the international congress “Media Literacy Matters – European Digital and Media Literacy Conference” in Brussels on March 1, 2024.

The presentation titled “Fostering digital citizenship: the PROPS project”, delivered by Ana Filipa Cerol Martins, vice-cordinator of the project, was part of the panel dedicated to research and actions concerning video games titled “Beyond play: digital and media literacy and games”. Co-financed by the European Union and organized in the context of the Belgian presidency of the Council of Europe, this conference brought together experts and public/private entities engaged in research and initiatives within the realm of media education.

Researchers from various European countries, including Portugal, as well as international participants from the USA, Australia, and Cameroon, took part in this edition of the congress. Amid a diverse range of thematic discussions related to media literacy, the PROPS presentation stood out within a select group focusing on video games—an area emphasized during the conference’s concluding remarks by Andy Demeulenaere, the conference organizer and coordinator of Mediawijs – Flemish Knowledge Base for Digital and Media Literacy.
