SAVE THE DATE – PROPS Meeting: Digital Diversity, Tolerance, and Online Inclusion takes place on July 4th
The PROPS project – Interactive Narratives Propose Pluralistic Discourse organizes the meeting “PROPS: Digital Diversity, Tolerance, and Online Inclusion” on July 4, 2024.
This event will serve as a platform to disseminate and discuss results and to present the six interactive narratives produced by PROPS researchers, coordinated by researcher Bruno Mendes da Silva and Ana Filipa Martins. The aim is to engage and motivate teachers, educators, and young students to reflect on and discuss the issue of online hate speech.
The meeting will feature Vítor Tomé, a lecturer at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa and researcher at Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, as one of the main speakers, along with representatives from national institutions such as SeguraNet and MetaRed, entities operating in the fields of cybersecurity and the use of ICT in academic contexts.
In addition to presentations, there will also be space for two accredited masterclasses, relevant for career progression for Teachers in Basic and Secondary Education. This effort stems from a recent partnership between CIAC and the Centro de Formação da Ria Formosa, Associação de Escolas Faro – Olhão.
The “PROPS: Digital Diversity, Tolerance, and Online Inclusion” Meeting, marking the conclusion of another CIAC project, will take place throughout the day on July 4 in Auditorium 1.5 of the Pedagogical Complex on the Campus da Penha at the University of Algarve.
Admission is free, and participation in the event grants a participation certificate upon registration (here).
