SEA-EU Film Festival 2026 is now open for applications
The SEA-EU Film Festival 2026 is now open for submissions. The University of Cádiz, as coordinator of SEA-EU, invites all its students to submit a short film for the SEA-EU Film Festival 2026.
This year, the festival has an open theme; however, in the selection of the winning video, special consideration will be given to the connection between the story told and the values included in any of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
The videos must be between 3 and 15 minutes in length, and the best ones will be screened at the Jerez de la Frontera Campus from April 14 to 16 as part of the International University Short Film Competition “MARAVÍLLAME.”
Participation Rules:
- The competition is free of charge and open to all students of the Alliance as well as external students.
- Participants must hold the rights to their video and obtain authorization if they include recordings of small groups, families, close-up images of faces, or videos featuring children.
- The film must be between 3 and 15 minutes long.
- Films must be in English or subtitled in English.
- Each student may submit only one video.
- Videos may be created by multiple authors.
- The author(s) must be the original creator(s) of the video.
- Accepted formats are: .mov, .mp4, or .avi.
- AI-generated videos will be disqualified.
Important Dates:
- Video submission deadline: March 22.
- Selection of the winning video and notification to the author: March 31 to April 5.
- SEA-EU Film Fest: April 14–16.
- Final gala and award ceremony for the winning video: April 16.
The festival is primarily aimed at students from the nine universities of the SEA-EU Alliance, but it also accepts, for screening purposes (outside the main competition), short films by students from any European university, provided they align with the objectives of the competition.
