Visual Arts Cycle returns with guest Filipe Paixão
GAMA RAMA Gallery hosts the first Visual Arts Cycle of the year with guest artist Filipe Paixão, architect, and founder of the corpo atelier. The event will take place on February 26, starting at 5:00 PM.
During the session, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition “Future Memory” by corpo atelier, featuring 17 drawings that delve into the essence of uninhabited imaginary spaces, challenging the boundaries of the tangible and ephemeral.
The exhibition presents a unique view of corpo atelier’s creative mind, exploring the intersection between architecture and art. Each drawing is a visual narrative that challenges the traditional perception of space, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a realm of possibilities and reflections.
Corpo is an art and architecture studio focused on the exploration and expansion of architectural anatomy, founded by Filipe Paixão in 2014 in Faro. Selected by ArchDaily as one of the “20 Best Young Practices of 2020,” it gained recognition at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2023. Their artistic works are part of various collections, including Casa da Cerca and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
Promoted by CIAC and FCT, the Visual Arts Cycle is organized by the Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Algarve, and with the colaboration of GAMA RAMA Gallery in this edition.
The exhibition will be open until April 13, 2024, at GAMA RAMA Gallery (Rua Prior, No. 13, Faro).
