ZOOM – Cultural Mediation Meeting returns to Teatro das Figuras with the participation of Mirian Tavares
On April 22 and 23, Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, will host the 2nd edition of ZOOM – Cultural Mediation Meeting, an initiative promoted by Teatro das Figuras in partnership with the National Arts Plan, bringing together professionals from the fields of Culture and Education for two days of reflection, debate, and exchange of practices around cultural mediation.
The programme includes panels, round tables, and discussion sessions involving researchers, cultural mediators, artists, and educators, fostering a critical and collaborative approach to the contemporary challenges of cultural mediation.
The meeting proposes a broad discussion on the role of cultural mediation in strengthening relationships between culture, education, and community, highlighting its importance in the development of participatory, inclusive, and democratic practices. The programme features panels, round tables, and moments for sharing experiences among researchers, cultural agents, educators, and mediators.
CIAC – the Research Centre for Arts and Communication will be represented by its deputy coordinator, Mirian Tavares, who will moderate the round table of the first panel, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on April 22. Her participation reinforces CIAC’s engagement with issues related to culture, communication, and artistic mediation, which are central areas of research at the centre.
ZOOM – Cultural Mediation Meeting thus establishes itself as a space for dialogue and knowledge-building, fostering collaborative networks between cultural, educational, and research institutions, and reinforcing the importance of cultural mediation in access to and participation in the arts and contemporary culture.
