Maria Potes Barbas takes part in the conference “Rights of People with Disabilities: The Road to Full Inclusion”

Maria Potes Barbas, CIAC researcher and coordinator of the CIAC Hub on Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion, at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, took part with student Pilar Silva Santos, a former student of the Digital Literacy for the Labour Market course, in the conference “Rights of People with Disabilities: The Road to Full Inclusion”, promoted by the Labour, Social Security and Inclusion Committee. The event took place in the New Building of the Assembly of the Republic — António de Almeida Santos Auditorium, on December 17th at 14:30.

She took part in the 2nd panel: “Innovative Experiences for Empowering Disabled Citizens”, which was moderated by MEP Fernando José, coordinator of the “Inclusion and Rights of People with Disabilities” working group.

Maria P. Barbas said: “We had the opportunity to address key issues related to inclusion, highlighting the digital literacy course for the labour market, a pioneering initiative in Portugal. We also shared experiences and results achieved through inclusive European projects” and that “It was an incredible moment to share the work carried out and reinforce the need to guarantee the rights and full participation of people with difficulties. Let’s build a fairer and more accessible society together!”
