[The book that illuminates. The epistolary legacy of José Mejuto Bernárdez (Antifranquist prisoner, 1936-1939)]
The third volume of the collection has as its protagonist the anti-Francoist prisoner José Mejuto Bernárdez, whose epistolary legacy allows us to leave the collective silence and dignify the memory of an entire nation.
Throughout the monograph, authors Alonso Montero, Olivia Rodríguez González and Ana Paula Mejuto Soba conduct a study of the 36 letters that José Mejuto Bernárdez wrote to his family in the first months of the Civil War. This work allows us to approach not only the experiences of its protagonist but also the reality of the thousands of republican prisoners who, like him, encountered death in the Francoist prisons.
