CIAC and the University of Algarve participate in the 3rd International Colloquium of Al Hoceima, Morocco

The Faculty of Sciences and Techniques of Al Hoceima, in Morocco, will host the 3rd edition of the International Colloquium of Al Hoceima on 24 and 25 April 2026, under the theme “Linguistics / Literature / Communication: Some Possibilities for Partnership”, with a special focus on cinema.

The event is organised by the Department of Management and Techniques of Expression and Communication of that institution, in collaboration with several international universities, including the University of Algarve (UAlg), which participates through the direct involvement of Professor António Costa Valente, co-president of the colloquium and member of CIAC – the Research Centre for Arts and Communication.

An international meeting dedicated to dialogue between disciplines, the colloquium aims to explore points of contact between linguistics, literature, communication and cinema, encouraging new interdisciplinary perspectives. Among the invited speakers are academics from universities in Morocco, Portugal, France, Italy and the United States.

The official languages of the event will be French, Portuguese and English, and each presentation will last 20 minutes. Registration costs 50 euros and includes coffee breaks, lunches and a gala dinner.

The organisers highlight that the deadline for submitting paper proposals is 15 January 2026. Proposals of around 250 words, accompanied by a brief biobibliographical note, should be sent via email to: clc.fsth@gmail.com

The results of the evaluation will be communicated on 31 January 2026, and the final programme will be announced on 28 February 2026.

The papers presented and selected will later be published in a special issue of a leading scientific journal.
