‘Computer Programming and Digital Art’ – with André Conde is the next Communication Sciences Seminar
The next Communication Sciences Seminar, with the theme ‘Computer Programming and Digital Art’, will be held on 11 April at 6.30pm in Amphitheatre 67, ESEC, on the University of the Algarve’s Penha Campus.
Born in Évora, André Conde began his musical studies at the Academia de Música Eborense, and went on to study trombone at the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional and the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra. Subsequently, he received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation for the Master’s Degree in Orchestral Performance and the Master’s Degree in Specialised Performance – Soloist, both at the Zurich University of the Arts, under the guidance of David Bruchez. He has collaborated with several renowned orchestras, such as the Zurich Opera Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Gulbenkian Orchestra and Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and has been selected for the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Orchestra. He has also trained in early music, contemporary music and jazz, and has taken part in masterclasses with leading international trombonists. He is currently studying for a PhD in Music and Musicology – Interpretation at the University of Évora.
This seminar is the result of a partnership with the Zer0 Museum and is organised as part of the Creative Programming Laboratory course of the master’s degree in Communication and Digital Media.
