[Research in Art, Teaching, and Transcontinental Experiences]
This book represents a collaborative effort between the State University of Ceará (UECE) and the University of Algarve (UAlg) to disseminate research in the field of art/education and digital media-art produced by educators in Brazil, Portugal, Cape Verde, Morocco, and Macau. The work is structured into three main sections: the first explores interdisciplinary experiences and contemporary technologies, highlighting projects such as INVITRO for artistic experimentation, the “A/R/COGRAPHY” research methodology, and the use of video games like Unbully to foster empathy and combat hate speech in virtual communities.
The following section focuses on pedagogical practices and aesthetic education, addressing topics such as teaching contemporary art from a post-humanist perspective in Morocco and developing an anti-racist consciousness through Black corporeality in teacher training.
Finally, the book delves into the dialogue between art and poiesis, reflecting on the role of poetry in the university, the creation of collective diaries, and Paulo Freire’s vision of education as a work of art that requires ethics and aesthetics. Collectively, the work seeks to promote intersections among researchers from various countries to broaden the perception of the teaching-learning process of the arts in global contexts.
